On February 24th, highly-esteemed political science and economics scholar Michael Munger came to Ball State University to speak in front of roughly 100 students and professors about Public Choice 101. Munger has held positions at the Federal Trade Commission, multiple universities (including head of Duke University’s political science department), as well as making a run at governor of North Carolina. He was a third-party (Libertarian) candidate. During his talk at Ball State, he used philosophical ideas and real-world examples to demonstrate how public choice works. He emphasized that the government should do the “right kind of nothing” when it comes to public policy decisions. For more on Munger, follow his blog at Kids Prefer Cheese.
